12 new Omicron cases in Telangana, tally rises to 79

Hyderabad, Jan 1 (UNI) Telangana recorded twelve new cases of the Omicron variant of Covid in the state on Saturday, taking the total tally of cases in the state to 79.
Among the new cases, Three were passengers ,who returned to the state from an ' at risk’ country while nine had arrived from’ non risk’ countries, the State Director of Public Health authorities said in its bulletin in the evening.
Ten samples collected from RT-PCR positive passengers at the airport were sent for genome sequencing and another 21 previous samples are awaiting reports.
