Hyderabad, Sep 17 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) hoisted the National flag at Public Gardens on the occasion of Telangana Jateeya Samaikyatha Dinotsavam(TJSD) (Telangana National Unity Day) on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, CM KCR said there is a threat to Telangana and the nation from religious forces (indirectly mentioning BJP).
He said the Hyderabad state joined Independent India on September 17, 1948 from Monarchy rule. But some forces are trying to take political advantage of this, We need to be aware and alert of these forces.
CM KCR said the Integration Day celebration is an extension to India’s 75 years of Independence. The Telangana people’s struggle was invaluable from the monarchy rule. Hyderabad was a separate state till 1956 and against the wishes of the Telangana people, united Andhra Pradesh was formed with Hyderabad. In the united AP, Telangana people were decimated and humiliated. In 2001 I launched the agitation and finally the separate statehood was achieved in 2014.
Rao alleged that decisive forces are using September 17 as political purposes and distorting the history of Telangana.
“ Telangana people had to face many hardships for 58 years. Such situations should not happen again. Extremist forces are creating unrest in the country and people should not stand in the way of anarchy in the land of Telangana. People should counter attack such decisive forces”, the Chief Minister added.
" The Telangana state is achieving all-round development and it is on the path of progress. At this juncture, the religious forces are trying to divide Telangana society,", the Chief Minister alerted people and beware of it.
Elaborating developmental programmes implemented by the TRS government, the Chief Minister said Telangana was the only state to provide quality power 24X7 to all the sectors including free power to the agriculture sector.
The government also implemented innovative schemes including Rythu Bandu, Rythu Bhima, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya. No other state was implementing such schemes, he said.
As part of the TJSD, the National Flag hoisting celebrations were held at all the district, mandal and gram panchayats headquarter levels. Ministers, MLAs, MLCS and people representatives participated in the programmes.
A huge public meeting will be held at the NTR Stadium, here this evening. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is the chief guest.
As part of the TJSD, Cultural programmes will be held at all the district headquarters on September18 and felicitation of freedom fighters and artists will also be held on the same day, according to official sources.
