SIT arrests 12 people in Valmiki funds scam

Bengaluru, Aug 5 (UNI) In a major development in the alleged Valmiki Corporation scam in Karnataka, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested 12 people and seized Rs 49.96 crore.
The SIT has filed a preliminary charge sheet against the accused, including former officials of the corporation and businessmen.
The alleged scam, which is said to involve the "misappropriation" of Rs 187.33 crore, has already led to the resignation of Minister B Nagendra and opposition parties are demanding Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also put in his papers.
