HRC orders Telangana Govt to clear six-year pending wages for Mahila Shakthi Kendra staff

Hyderabad, Aug 8 (UNI) The Telangana State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), headed by Dr Justice Shameem Akther, has directed the State government to immediately release all pending salaries to Social Counsellors, Legal Counsellors, Police Constables, and Data Entry Operators working in Mahila Shakthi Kendras, who have not been paid since April 2019.

In its order dated July 25, 2025 (HRC No. 285/2020), the Commission observed that denial of wages to individuals rendering essential services amounts to a violation of their Right to Livelihood and Right to Live with Dignity guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution.
