Formulate safety action plans for Monsoon season: SCR GM

Hyderabad, Jun 16 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya conducted a detailed review on safety, punctuality and freight loading on Tuesday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

Mr B B Singh, Additional General Manager, SCR, Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded participated in the meeting through video conference, a SCR statement here said.

The General Manager extensively reviewed the safety aspects on the Zone including monsoon precautions, in view of the onset of monsoon season. He instructed the officials to accord high priority for monsoon precautions.

Mr Mallya advised the officials to focus on maintaining the punctual running of the special trains. He also took stock of the COVID preparedness and the precautions that need to be followed as another priority area.

The General Manager also reviewed the freight loading activity on the Zone. He complemented the officials for a record loading of food grains which is more than 240 per cent higher compared to last
year, apart from incremental loading in fertilizer and granite sectors.

He also appreciated the efforts of Zone in maintaining average speed of 50 Kmph for freight trains, which stands 3rd across Indian Railways.
