Womens' oppression not receding in UP: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Oct 14 (UNI) Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of adopting an insensitive attitude towards women, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said that the tyranny of the ruling class and those protected by them on the daughters of Uttar Pradesh is ceasing to stop.
In a statement issued on Wednesday here, he said that the central government has come down to oppressive policies towards farmers and youth. Its attitude is insensitive towards the poor, women and the weaker sections of the society. It has started harassing the people in the arrogance of power and thus, it is facing public anger and unpopularity.
Mr Yadav said that the BJP government makes the excuse in crimes related to women that it is a matter of mutual relations or kinship and not of criminals. By making the 1090 and UP Dial 100 services, which worked during the SP's regime, ineffective, BJP is violating public interest in political rivalry. The police did not take any lessons from Hathras and other incidents. The criminals do not have any fear of the cops.
