Bengaluru, Sep 23 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former union minister Veerappa Moily Thursday said after BJP came to power, sedition cases in India have shot up by 300 per cent.
"The BJP government is liberally misusing sedition law under the IPC. Stan Samy died in jail under the law. As many as 300 per cent sedition cases have increased after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister," he told reporters here.
The Supreme Court and High Court also have taken the NDA government to task for foisting too many sedition cases, Moily stated.
