LG, CM should take steps to hold local body election in UT : Ramadass

Puducherry, Oct 22 (UNI) Former Lok Sabha member from Puducherry Prof M.Ramadass on Thursday urged Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy to take steps to hold the local body election in the Union Territory.
In a statement here, Prof Ramadass blamed both the Lt Governor and the Chief Minister for not holding the local body elections and said if the elections were held in 2016 the UT could have obtained funds for Local Bodies from the Union government which would have reduced the financial crisis.
Rural Infrastructure might have been developed and 1129 people’s representatives in Rural and 131 in Urban might have worked for the people.
