DMK urges CM to provide 3 pc inner reservation for Arumthathiyinar community

Puducherry, Oct 12 (UNI) Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) South Convener R Siva MLA on Monday urged Chief Minister V Narayanasamy to take immediate steps to provide three percent inner reservation for Arumthathiyinar community in Education and Employment.
In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, Mr Siva said the Supreme Court in its Order had said that the state government could provide inner reservation for Arumthathiyinar community and as such, the failure to implement the Apex Court direction, will be against the Constitution.
Further it is not proper on the part of the government not to implement the reservation at a time when the rights of the state are widely spoken, he said, adding that it will be a credit to the Congress-DMK government and will become history if it was implemented during the present tenure.
