Chennithala urges Guv to summon CM in connection with gold smuggling case

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 26 (UNI) Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday urged Governor Arif Mohammed Khan to exercise his constitutional powers to summon Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and direct him to submit all documents and evidence as asked by the investigating agencies in connection with the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case in the state.
In a letter to the Governor, the Opposition leader said the Chief Minister should be directed to submit all documents and ensure their safe transmission to the Governor within a short reasonable time frame.
He also urged the Governor to direct the State Government to ensure due fire protection and physical security to the critical offices, which may be ensured by deploying a suitable central para-military force in consultation with the investigating agencies.
