Opposition leader demands probe into drug racket case

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 3 (UNI) Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday demanded an impartial probe into Bengaluru drug racket case in which the son of CPI(M) Kerala Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was allegedly involved.
Inaugurating a sit-in dharna by DCC president Neyyattinkara Sunil in protest against ransacking of Congress offices in Venjaranmood soon after the twin murders of DYFI activists, the Opposition leader said the allegation raised by Muslim Youth League state secretary PK Firoz against Bineesh Kodiyeri is serious.
Expressing serious concern over Kerala turning as a hub of drug and gold smuggling mafia, he said the police, which is maintaing a silence, should probe the role of Bineesh Kodiyeri in the drug case.

Expats set up new ventures, 4,897 register with NORKA

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 23 (UNI) Many expatriates who have returned to Kerala from abroad after the outbreak of the COVID pandemic are planning to start new ventures here. Over the past six months, 4,897 expats have registered with the Non-Resident Keralites Affairs (NORKA) Department Project for Returned Emigrants (NDPREM) scheme, which helps these emigrants to start their own businesses.

Telangana govt to create two more divisions in Agriculture Dept
