Kerala CM urges PM to put 'Agnipath' on hold

Thiruvananthapuram, June 18 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to put the 'Agnipath' Scheme on hold.
The Chief Minister tweeted: "Protests erupting against the Agnipath Scheme is a clear indication of the sentiments of India's youngsters. In the interest of our country, requested the Hon.@PMOIndia to put the scheme on hold, address criticism by professionals and duly consider the apprehensions of our youth."
Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennitala also tweeted: "Indian Armed Forces is definitely not the place for BJP to implement it's mindless agendas. The dignity of Armed Forces should be respected and the future of youth should be safeguarded. Govt should reconsider it's decision over #AgnipathScheme."
