Prime Minister Modi interacted with K'taka leaders on COVID-19

Bengaluru, Jul 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a two-hour video-conference meeting with the Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, senior ministers and party leaders and was briefed about the COVID-19 situation in the state.

Speaking after the meeting, State BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, informed that the prime minister had instructed to take all measures to help out the people, who are facing difficult times due to

the onset of the pandemic in the country.

Informing that the prime minister who had expressed concern over the increasing number of COVID-19 infections had suggested to the party cadre to constantly be in contact with the people, especially working-class, farmers and other vulnerable sections in the society.

He said that the state BJP General Secretary, Ravikumar, had presented a report, about the state party's measures taken to mitigate the problems of the people, during the lock-down period.

Prime minister, in his address, had advised remaining above politics and stated that "BJP is not meant for power, but to serve the people".

He also claimed that the Prime minister had appreciated the measures taken by both the party as well as the state government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Replying to questions, over new KPCC president D K Shivakumar, who had presented a show of strength during his 'taking charge of the party' he said that "the initial euphoria shown by the new KPCC president will not last long".

"People within the Congress will finish-off D K Shivakumar, who had vowed to end BJP rule in Karnataka," he said.
