Vaishnaw hails PM Modi for 11 years of transformation in tech, railways

Bengaluru, Aug 10 (UNI) Union Railway Ashwini Vaishnaw today hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11-year tenure as the driver of India’s transformation from a fragile economy to a global bright spot, citing breakthroughs in electronics manufacturing, artificial intelligence, semiconductor production and railways modernisation.
Speaking at a public function here he said the achievements—from India becoming the second-largest mobile phone maker to unprecedented railway investments in Karnataka—were possible due to Modi’s “visionary leadership” and “laser-sharp focus."
Vaishnaw said India’s electronics production has grown six fold in the last 11 years to Rs 12 lakh crore, while exports surged eight times to over Rs 3 lakh crore. He said that 11 years ago, "nobody could imagine" India exporting electronics, and today it is the world’s second-largest mobile phone manufacturer. India has also overtaken all countries to become the largest smartphone supplier to the USA. Bengaluru, he said, is emerging as a major iPhone manufacturing hub.
