NFF seeks intervention of Jaishankar for safe return of fishermen to Chennai

Puducherry, Sep 17(UNI) National Fisherfolk Forum(NFF) on Thursday sought the intervention of the Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for the safe return of fishermen to Chennai.
In a letter to Mr Jaishankar, NFF Chairperson M Illango said Nine fishermen from Kasimedu in Chennai, who went out for fishing on July 23, were drifted and found by the Myanmar Coast Guard.
The Myanmar Coast Guard rescued and taken care of them, but were not allowed into their country because of COVID threat.
