Ugandan national sentenced to 13-years RI in drug seizure case

Hyderabad, Nov 8 (UNI) The First Additional District and Sessions Judge here has convicted and sentenced a Ugandan female National to 13-years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) in connection with a major drug trafficking case at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad near here.
The Court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on her and an an additional three-month simple imprisonment in case of non-payment, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) said in a statement on Friday.
Earlier, in June 5, 2021, the DRI officials intercepted the female Ugandan national as she returned to the airport to retrieve a piece of check-in baggage she had missed on an earlier journey from Harare to Hyderabad.
