Court rejects plea of Chennithala against CDR collection of Covid patients

Kochi, Aug 21 (UNI) A division bench of Kerala High Court, comprising Chief Justice S Manikumar and Shaji P Chaly on Friday rejected the petition filed by Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala against Kerala government's move to collect Call Detail Records of Covid-19 patients.
The court accepted the government's stance that it will only collect the tower location of the Covid patients and nothing else and rejected the petition.
The government, on behalf of DGP, had submitted at the court that only tower location details are required to monitor the patients and to trace them if they violate quarantine.
