AP: Drunk drive cases: 22 gets two days imprisonment in Kakinada

Kakinada, July 30 (UNI) The third special judicial second class Magistrate V Narasimha Rao while delivering his verdict on drunk driving cases on Tuesday has awarded two days imprisonment to 22 drivers and fined Rs.10,000 each to 26 other drivers.
Traffic Inspectors Chaithanya Krishna and Ramesh booked the cases during the special drive Monday night and produced them before the court in the morning. Traffic inspectors said that the special drive would be continued for some more days under instructions from SP Vikrant Patil as a part of the programme to bring down the rate of road accidents.
They advised the two wheeler drivers to wear helmets and the car drivers to wear seat belts as a safety measure and strictly observe the traffic rules and regulations. The Inspectors further advised the Parents not to give vehicles to their minor children and also even to Majors without driving license.
