Karnataka schools, colleges to introduce daily meditation

Bengaluru, Nov 3 (UNI) Karnataka Education Minister BC Nagesh on Thursday said a direction has been issued to school and under-graduate colleges to take steps to introduce 10 minutes of daily meditation for students.
"It is directed to take necessary steps to meditate for 10 minutes daily for students in schools & undergraduate colleges for increasing concentration, improving health, positive thinking, stress-free learning, personality development by imbibing good qualities," Nagesh said in a tweet with the note.
He notes that the decision was based on an appeal by the Karnataka State Primary School Teachers' Association. It says some schools already have meditation sessions.
