Keel laid for Hybrid Commissioning Service Operation Vessel at Cochin Shipyard

Kochi, Dec 14 (UNI) Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) laid the keel of the state-of-the-art Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) named 'Pelagic Walu' which is the first of the two vessels being constructed for the Cyprus-based Pelagic Wind Services Ltd.
The hybrid-electric vessel is also fitted with a large 2800 kWh Li-ion battery pack for enhanced operational efficiency and emission reduction. The vessel is prepared for Methanol fuel operation in the future.

This project reflects CSL’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration while simultaneously strengthening its position as a leading destination for the construction of specialised, next-generation vessels.
The keel for the vessel was laid by Andre Groenweld, CEO of Pelagic Wind Services, in the presence of Sreejith K N, Director (Operations), Harikrishnan S, Executive Director (Shipbuilding), senior officials of Pelagic Wind Services, CSL, Classification Society DNV, and other stakeholders at a function held at the Cochin Shipyard.
