KFON project to be completed by end of this year: Kerala CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 4 (UNI) Kerala Fiber Optic Network (KFON), an ambitious IT infrastructure project to provide high-speed internet free of cost, will be completed by the end of this year, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the State Assembly on Monday.
"The project, already connected 7,389 government offices, will extend services to over 30,000 offices. The first phase of the project was completed in February 2021," the Chief Minister said while replying to a question in this regard.
The project is aimed at providing free internet access to 20 lakh economically backward families, he said.
