Bhadradri-Kothagudem (Telangana), Sept 3 (UNI) A 25-year-old Maoist was killed in an exchange of fire held between the police and Maoists at Devallagudem forest area in Gundala Mandal in the district in the early hours on Thursday.
Based on the intelligence inputs regarding the movement of Maoist in forest areas near Devallagudem village, vehicle checking was being intensified by police parties and during the checking, a police officer noticed two bike-borne men and tried to stop them, police said here.
After seeking the police party, the Maoists opened fire on the police party before escaping, however, in retaliation, police also fired on them, resulting in the death of one Maoist.
