Stalin launches 19 projects worth Rs 17,616 cr, lays stone for 28 others worth Rs 51,157 cr

Chennai, Aug 21 (UNI) In a major boost to industrial development, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
M K Stalin on Wednesday inaugurated 19 projects involving an investment of Rs 17,616 crore
and would offer jobs to 64,968 people.
Inaugurating the TN Investment conclave 2024 here, he also laid the foundation stone for 28 different projects involving a total investment of Rs 51,157 crore, that would offer jobs to 41,835 people.
In all 1,06,803 people would get jobs, Mr Stalin said, in his address.
Stating that today was a very important day in the industrial history and development history of Tamil Nadu, Mr Stalin said it was a day to showcase State's economic prowess to the world - and a day to realize that Tamil Nadu has a bright future.
"If Industry grows, the State grows; Families also grow and live through the jobs created; In that way, Industries are a sign of growth", he added.
Recalling the Global Investors Meet hosted by the State government, he said a total of 631 MoUs were signed committing investment to the tune of Rs 6.64 lakh crore.
Through this, employment will be provided to 14 lakh people directly and 12 lakh people indirectly.
In all, in the last three years, the State has attracted investments worth Rs of Rs 9 lakh 74,000 crore
creating direct and indirect employment for 31 lakh people, he added.

Russians relocated from cave to detention centre
