Tirupati stampede incident: AP govt suspends police officer, SV Gosala Director; orders probe

Tirupati, Jan 9 (UNI) Expressing his deep grief over the death of devotees during the stampede incident that occurred at Tirupati on Wednesday night, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu on Thursday said the officials, who were responsible for the tragic incident, including DSP Raman Kumar and In-charge of that point SV Gosala Director Dr Harinath Reddy, have been suspended.
TTDs Joint Executive Officer MS Goutami, District Superintendent of Police Subbarayudu, and Chief Vigilance and Security Officer Sridhar have been transferred, Naidu said in a press conference after interacting with the injured devotees, who are undergoing treatment at SVIMS Hospital here.
Naidu said the incident where six devotees lost their lives in a stampede that occurred near Tirupati while waiting in queue lines for free tokens for the Vaikuntha Ekadasi Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam has shocked and disturbed him a lot.
