Tamil Nadu reports 5,684 new COVID-19 cases, 87 deaths

Chennai, Sep 08 (UNI) Tamil Nadu recorded 5,684 new COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the overall caseload to 4,74,940, while the death toll crossed a grim milestone of 8,000-mark to reach 8,012 with 87 more fatalities.

Health department in its bulletin said of the 87 deaths, 44 were reported in government hospitals and 43 in private hospitals.
