DMK functionary dies of COVID-19, Stalin condoles

Chennai, Jun 21 (UNI) Senior DMK functionary L Balaraman,
who tested positive for coronavirus, died at a hospital early
this morning.
Balaraman, who is the former Secretary of party's north
Chennai unit, was the second DMK functionary to die of
COVID-19 after DMK Legislator J Anbazhagan, who had
succumbed to the virus ten days back.
Condoling his death, DMK President M K Stalin, in a
statement said, Balaraman was a hard worker and played
a key role in ensuring the victory of former DMK Chief and
former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and former General
Secretary K Anbazhagan in the Harbour Assembly
constituency.
He said Balaraman had special affection for Karunanidhi
and said his sacrifices and contribution could never be
forgotten and extended his condolences to the family
members.
