10 new Omicron cases in Telangana, major jump in Covid-19 cases

Hyderabad, Jan 4 (UNI) Telangana recorded 10 new cases of the Omicron variant on Tuesday, taking the total tally of cases so far in the state to 94.
Among the ten new cases, five were recorded among passengers who returned to the state from high risk countries while five persons had arrived from non-risk countries, State Director of Public Health authorities said in its bulletin in the evening.
Eight samples collected from RT-PCR positive passengers at the airport were sent for genome sequencing and another 50 previous samples are awaiting reports.
