Hyderabad, Dec 21 (UNI) In a decline in daily count, Telangana reported just 316 fresh COVID-19 cases until 2000 hours on Sunday pushing the total number of Coronavirus cases state-wide to 2,81,730 so far.
The dip in Coronavirus positive cases was due to lesser sample tests conducted on Sunday and being a holiday.
The state suffered two COVID-19 deaths afresh to take the total death toll to 1,515 till date translating a fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the country-wide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Monday.
A total of 612 people have recovered from Coronavirus between Saturday and Sunday taking the cumulative recoveries in the state thus far to 2,73,625 constituting a recovery rate of 97.12 per cent while the National recovery rate was 95.5 per cent.
Presently, the state has 6,590 active cases of coronavirus including 4,467 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
Of the 32,714 swab samples tested to detect the contagious virus in the state in the last 24 hours, the reports of 554 swab samples were awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 64.75 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Recording the lowest positive cases in recent months, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) registered only 86 Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours followed by Ranga Reddy distirct (30) and Medchal Malkajigiri district (22).
The remaining COVID cases were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
