Telangana records 1,432  new Coronavirus positive cases, eight COVID deaths in past 24 hours

Hyderabad, Oct 15 (UNI) Telangana continued to report Coronavirus positive cases with 1,432 new cases recorded till 2000 hours on Wednesday pushing the cumulative number of cases to 2,17,670 so far.
Eight more COVID-19 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours taking the overall toll to 1,249 constituting a case fatality rate of 0.57 per cent as against the countrywide mortality of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin said here on Thursday.
The total number of patients who had recovered from coronavirus in the state so far rose to 1,93,218 with 1,949 patients recovering from the virus between Tuesday and Wednesday with a recovery rate of 88.76 per cent while the National average was 87.3 per cent.
Of the 38,895 swab samples of persons tested during the last 24 hours to detect the virus the reports of 884 swab samples were awaited the bulletin said, adding the state now has 23,203 active cases.
Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic,37,03,047 COVID-19 tests had been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin added.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits remained the top contributor of positive cases by reporting 244 fresh cases followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district which registered 115 cases.
The remaining cases were reported from other districts which had contributed less than 100 cases each.
