Telangana records 1,896 new COVID-19 positive  cases, 12 fatalities till Wednesday night

Hyderabad, Oct 8 (UNI) Telangana reported 1,896 fresh Coronavirus positive cases till 2000 hours on Wednesday pushing the overall number of COVID-19 cases in the state to 2,06,644, according to a state health department bulletin here on Thursday.
The fatalities rose to 1,201 with 12 more COVID-19 deaths reported during the last 24 hours constituting a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent.
The cumulative number of recoveries in the state reached 1,79,075 as 2,067 patients had recuperated from Coronavirus between Tuesday and Wednesday with a recovery rate of 86.65 per cent as against the National average of 85.2 per cent.
In all, 50,367 samples had been tested during the last 24 hours and the results of 1,363
samples of persons were awaited ,the bulletin said.
More than 33.96 lakh COVID-19 sample tests had been conducted in the state so far since the
outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The number of active cases in the state now stood at 26,368.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits remained the top contributor of the positive cases by reporting 294 cases followed by Ranga Reddy district (211), Medchal Malkajigiri district (154), Nalgonda district (126) and Siddipet district (100).
The day's remaining COVID-19 cases were contributed by other districts, the bulletin added.
