Hyderabad, Oct 1 (UNI) Telangana records 2,214 new COVID-19 cases till 2000 hours on Wednesday taking the total caseload to 1,91,386 so far.
Eight COVID-19 deaths were reported during the past 24 hours pushing the overall toll to 1,135 till date constituting a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.56 per cent, a state health department bulletin informed on Thursday.
In all,2,474 patients had recovered from the contagious coronavirus during the past 24 hours taking the total recoveries in the state 1,63,407 translating into a recovery rate of 84.40 per cent while the national recovery rate was 83.51 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state now was 29,058, the bulletin said.
During the last 24 hours,54,443 swab samples were tested, of which the results of 1,393 samples were pending. Cumulatively,30,50,444 COVID-19 tests had been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits with 305 new cases continued to be the top contributor of the virus cases followed by Rangareddy district (190), Medchal (153), Nalgonda (140), Warangal-Urban (131) and Karimnagar (106).
The day's remaining positive cases were contributed by other districts which had recorded less than 100 cases each.
