COVID-19 cases breach 1.72 lakh mark in Telangana

Hyderabad, Sep 21 (UNI) With 1,302 new Coronavirus positive cases reported, Telangana's COVID-19 case tally rose to 1,72,608 till 2000 hours on Sunday, while the toll mounted to 1,042 with nine more COVID-19 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
During the last 24 hours, 2,230 patients had recovered from the contagious virus pushing the total recoveries in the state till date to 1,41,930 constituting a recovery rate of 82.22 per cent as against the National average of 79.87 per cent.
The case fatality rate remained less than one per cent at 0.60 per cent in the state while the country-wide mortality rate was 1.60 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Monday.
