Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) The upper spiral of COVID-19 cases continues in Telangana with 2,137 new cases recorded till 2000 hours on Saturday taking the cumulative number of the virus cases to 1,71,306 so far.
Eight more COVID-19 deaths during the last 24 hours pushed the overall toll to 1,033 constituting a case fatality rate of 0.60 per cent as against the countrywide mortality of 1.60 per cent,a state health department bulletin said on Sunday.
During the last 24 hours,2,192 patients had recuperated, increasing the total recoveries in the state to 1,39,700 with a recovery rate of 81.54 per cent ,while the countrywide recovery rate was 79.65 per cent.
In all,53,211 COVID-19 tests had been conducted between Friday and Saturday out of which the results of 1,185 samples were awaited,the bulletin said adding that the number of active cases in the state now stood at 30,573.
The overall COVID-19 tests conducted since the outbreak of coronavirus outbreak stood at 23,88,220, the bulletin added.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits ,as usual, contributed the maximum 322 cases ,while the other districts which reported more than 100 cases were Rangareddy (182),Medchal (146), Karimnagar (132),Nalgonda (124) and Siddipet (109).
The rest of the day's positive cases were reported from other districts,the bulletin added.
