Apollo hospitals Liver transplant team successfully perform ABOi LDLT on 19-year-old girl patient

Hyderabad, Sep 12 (UNI) The Liver Transplant team of Apollo Hospitals, led by Dr Manish Varma, Seniorr Consultant & HoD, Liver Transplant and HPB surgery here successfully performed an ABO incompatible Living Donor Liver Transplant (ABOi LDLT) on a 19-year-old girl G Soumya (19) hailing from Warangal as she is suffering from a rare disease called Budd-Chiari syndrome.
The patient who underwent surgery on August 11 was recovered fully and is doing with her regular daily routine works, a hospital statement here said on Saturday.
Explaining case details, Dr Manish said, on being brought to Apollo Hospitals, she was found to be suffering from severe symptomatic hepatic hydrothorax, a condition which led to excessive accumulation of fluid in the lungs and abdomen and swelling in the body resulting in breathing difficulty.
