Puducherry reports 155 new Covid cases and one death

Puducherry, July 23 (UNI) As many as 155 more people tested positive for Covind 19 and one related death was also reported in the last 24 hours ending at 10 AM on Saturday pushing the tally of infection to 1,69,930 and death toll to 1965 in the union territory.
According to a release from the health department, of the 1,811 swab tests taken on Friday, 155 tested positive for the virus.109 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 40 in Karaikal,and six in Yanam regions. 196 persons were treated and discharge in the last 24 hours. The lone death was reported in Puducherry region.
So far,1,69,930 people have been infected by the virus in the UT, of which 1,66,773 have been treated and discharged and 1,965 died leaving 1,192 active cases here. Of the 1,192 active cases, 1,168 are under home isolation and 24 hospitalized.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
