Puducherry, Jun 18 (UNI) As many as 353 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 and four patients succumbed in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM on Friday.
With this, the infection tally rose to 1,14,301 and death toll to 1,714.
According to COVID-19 status released by the health department here, of the 8,685 swab sample tests conducted on Thursday, 353 persons tested positive for the virus.
About 280 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 49 in Karaikal region,11 in Yanam region and 13 in Mahe region.
In the last 24 hours, 557 patients were discharged and 396 of them were from Puducherry region,117 from Karaikal region, 25 from Yanam region and 19 from Mahe region.
Presently, 528 patients are being treated in Puducherry region, 52 in Karaikal region, 23 in Yanam region and 32 in Mahe region. Another, 3,490 persons tested positive for COVID-19 were taking treatment under home isolation in all the four regions of UT.
So far, 1,14,301 persons were infected by the Corona virus and of which 1,08,462 patients were treated and discharged, 1,714 people died and 4,125 patients were undergoing treatment in hospitals and home isolation.
Among the four fatalities, two are male and the rest are females and they succumbed due to Covid related issues.
The test positivity rate in the UT stood at 4.06 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.50 per cent and recovery rate is 94.89 per cent.
As many as 3,65,452 persons including healthcare workers, frontline workers and general public were given COVID vaccine in the Union Territory so far.
