Consensus in all-party meeting to contain COVID outbreak: Kerala CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 29 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday announced that there was a broad consensus among the political parties in the State to contain the outbreak of the pandemic in view of the serious situation in the state.
Talking to newspersons after an all-party meeting convened today in the wake of the acute and serious situation of Covid spread, the CM said "The Covid situation in the State is serious and we should be able to contain the spread at any cost."
"Initially, we had controlled the outbreak very well but now in September, there was a staggering increase in the number of patients. About 96% of them are getting infected through contact. Not following Covid restrictions is the reason for this large scale spread. The situation can go worse in the coming days and we need to stop it," the CM said.
