Kerala reports 45 more Omicron cases, total cases rise to 152

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 2 (UNI) Forty-five more people tested positive to the Omicron variant of COVID-19 on Sunday taking the total cases to 152 in Kerala so far, Health Minister Veena George said.
The Minister in a press release here said 16 people tested positive in Ernakulam, 9 in Thiruvananthapuram, 6 in Thrissur, 5 in Pathanamthitta, 3 each in Alappuzha and Kozhikode, 2 in Malappuram and 1 in Wayanad.
In view of Omicron cases rising rapidly in Kerala, the Minister urged people to take utmost care and follow COVID protocol strictly to stop further spread of the pandemic.
