Kerala reports 25 COVID deaths, 9,347 new '+'ve cases, death toll rises to 1003

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 11 (UNI) Kerala reported 25 deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday, rising the death toll to 1,003 in the State, whereas 9,347 people tested positive to the virus, 8,924 patients have recovered from the disease and 96,316 patients are under treatment, Health Minister KK Shailaja said.
The Minister in a press release said, "Of the positive cases reported today, 8,216 were cases of local transmission and the source of infection for 821 was unknown. 105 healthcare workers were among those infected through contact."
She said 25 recent deaths were confirmed today taking the death toll to 1,003 in the State. The deceased are Meenakumari (68) & Peerumuhammed (84) from Thiruvananthapuram district; Cletus (70), Appukuttan Pillai (81) and Kuttiamma (63) from Kollam district; Emmanuel (77), Beevikunju (72), Abdul Jalil (59) and Sharda (80) from Alappuzha district, Abdul Khader (80) and Kuttappan Achari (70) from Kottayam district; Velappan (84), George (61) and Azeez (84) from Thrissur district; Sreedharan (68), Raghavan Nair (72), Kunjumon Haji (70), Kunjimuhammed (64) and Syed Mohammad (52) from Malappuram district, Ibrahim (75) and Gopalan (65) from Kozhikode district, Kannan (77) and Johnny Jimmy (13) from Kannur district, and Damodaran (63) and Nafisa (58) from Kasargod district.
