Kerala reports 19 COVID deaths, 4,125 new +ve cases: CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 22 (UNI) Kerala reported 19 deaths due to COVID-19 on Tuesday whereas 4,125 people tested positive to the virus, 3,007 patients have recovered from the same and 40,382 patients are under treatment, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
"Currently 2,20,270 people are under observation in the State -- 1,94,488 are under home or institutional quarantine and 25,782 in hospitals. 2,430 people were admitted to the hospitals today. So far, 1,01,731 persons have recovered from Covid in the State," the CM said while addressing a press conference here this evening.
Of the positive cases reported today, 3,463 persons were infected through contact and the source of infection of 412 was unknown (total contact cases 3,875). 87 healthcare workers were among those infected.
