2 dies of Covid in Kannur & Kozhikode

Kasaragod/Kozhikode, Jul 22 (UNI) A 48-year old woman undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital in Kannur died while a 57-year-old man succumbed to the virus during treatment at Government Medical College hospital in Kozhikode on Wednesday.
Health authorities said the deceased woman Hyrunissa, a Pachakkad native breathed her last early this morning.
Hyrunissa was admitted to a private hospital with Pnemonia last week. Later, she was shifted to Paiyaram Medical College Hospital in Kannur after she was tested positive for the virus on July 20.
This is the second death due to COVID-19 in Kasaragod district.
MCH authorities said the man Koyatty, native of a nearby Kallai, was admitted to the COVID-19 ward of Goverment Medical College hospital on July 20, with high fever.
A heart patient with a long history of diabetics, he was tested positive for the virus on testing his swab.
His condition worsened after he developed complications on Tuesday and died early this morning, the authorities said.
The source of his getting the infection could not be traced out, the authorities added.
