Kerala reports 14 COVID deaths, 2,988 new +ve cases: Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 11 (UNI) Kerala reported 14 deaths due to COVID-19 on Friday, whereas 2,988 people tested positive, 1,326 patients have recovered from the disease and total 27,877 patients are undergoing treatment, Health Minister KK Shailaja said this evening.
"Currently 2,03,256 people are under observation across the state -- 1,81,764 are under home or institutional quarantine and 21,492 in hospitals. 2,689 persons were admitted to the hospital today. So far, 73,904 have been cured of Covid in the State," the Minister said in a statement.
Of the cases diagnosed today, 2,738 people were infected through contact and the contact source of 285 was unknown. 45 of them have come back from foreign countries and 134 from other states. 52 healthcare workers were also infected by Coronavirus.
