Demand for modern methods of ayurveda treatment to curb spread of COVID increase

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 23 (UNI) While the Government of Kerala is currently in the process of getting the details of Ayurveda treatment for COVID-19 published in international medical journals, demand is increasing for integrating the traditional and modern methods of treatment to curb the spread of the pandemic.
As per a reply given in the Legislative Assembly by Kerala Minister for Health, 38.22 lakh people benefited from Ayurveda medicines through various schemes that has been rolled out by the Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) since the outbreak of COVID -19 pandemic in the state, according to Ayurveda practitioners here on Thursday.
The schemes that were rolled out since the pandemic outbreak include Bheshajam (rolled out to 4.5 lakh COVID -19 patients), Amritam (rolled to 8 lakh people who were in quarantine due to COVID 19), )Swasthyam (rolled out to 12.51 lakh as a preventive for COVID 19) Saukhyam (special scheme to prevent COVID -19 in the elderly availed by 7.88 lakh), and Punarjani (rolled out to 5.33 lakh for alleviating post-COVID complications).
