AP reports 5,487 new COVID-19 cases, 37 deaths

Vijayawada, Sep 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh reported 5,487 fresh cases of Coronavirus and 37 deaths in a period of 24 hours. The total number of cases have gone up to 6,81,161 while the pandemic has claimed the lives of 5,745 patients so far.
A health bulletin here on Monday said that 66,121 swab samples were tested in a period of 24 hours of which 5,487 were tested positive for Coronavirus.
With the death of 37 patients during a period of 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 5,745. Highest number of number of deaths have taken place in Chittoor district (641), Guntur district (523) and East Godavari district (515). There are 63,116 active cases in the State while 6,12,300 patients have been discharged as they recovered.
