Kerala to export Nendran banana to Europe

Idukki, Oct 08 (UNI) Kerala government has permitted Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council Keralam, under the agriculture department, to take measures for exporting Nendran bananas to European countries.
The project which aims to find a global market for the banana variety will be implemented under the National Centre for Banana Research. VFPCK plans to export 10-tonne Nendran banana to the UK in next year, sources said on Thursday.
Nendran bananas will be cultivated at selected places as per the agriculture export policy. The agriculture department will bear the expenditure for the cultivation in the first phase of the project.
