Kerala local bodies urged to focus on sanitation, waste-free drive enters 2nd year

Thiruvananthapuram, June 27 (UNI) Local self-government institutions have a lot more to do to sustain the first year's gains of the Malinya Muktha Nava Keralam, or Garbage-Free Kerala campaign, and achieve the goal of making the entire state litter-free, said Sarada Muraleedharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Local Self-Governments Department.
She was addressing a meeting of the members of the district and state committees of the State Panchayat Association here on Wednesday.
Listing out last year’s achievements of the campaign, Muraleedharan said this campaign has presented another unique Kerala model to the world.
