Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 10 (UNI) The ICA Domus Trust (IDT) and the Asia’s largest labour co-operative, the Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS) are set to host a 'Coop Pitch-2024 Competition,' a three day national event, at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K), Kerala, from October 16 to 18, 2024.
This initiative, organised as part of the centenary celebrations of ULCCS, aimed at fostering cooperative entrepreneurship among young people, is supported by IIM-K and TinkerHub, with additional partners expected to join soon.
The event is designed to provide a dynamic platform for young individuals to learn about cooperative entrepreneurship, including its principles, practices, and potential ventures.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities that emphasise collective entrepreneurship and innovative business strategies. The three-day event will feature focused workshops, capacity-building sessions, and continuous mentorship.
The competition will address several critical themes, including Agri-tech and Safe Food: Innovations in agriculture and food safety, Care Economy and Social Sector: Cooperative solutions for social care and welfare, Platform Cooperatives: Digital platforms operated as cooperatives, Sustainability & Green Economy: Eco-friendly business models and Education and Skills: Enhancing educational initiatives and skill development.
Beyond the workshops and sessions, top finalist teams will be awarded grant money, resources and a year-long mentorship to help develop the innovative ideas generated during the competition to cooperative enterprises.
