Hyd: Gandhian principles of truth and nonviolence remain a guiding force for Journalists: Prof Rai

Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) Indian Society of Gandhian Studies (ISGS) President Prof Shatish Kumar Rai on Tuesday said that Gandhi’s principles of truth, non-violence, and social welfare remain a guiding force for journalists to prioritize integrity over sensationalism.
Delivering a lecture on “Journalism of Mahatma Gandhi” being organized by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) here, Prof Rai underscored the relevance of Gandhian journalism in today’s fast-paced, digital age.
Highlighting Gandhi’s early experiences with racial discrimination in South Africa on the occasion, he explained how these pivotal moments influenced Gandhi’s transition from a young lawyer to an activist leader, ultimately defining his life’s purpose and his journalistic vision.
