Bengaluru, Sep 24 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai Friday said cinema theatres will be allowed to open to 100 per cent capacity from October 1 in districts where the positivity rate of Covid is less than one per cent.
Cinema theatres with fifty per cent capacity will be allowed in districts where the positivity rate is less than two per cent, he told reporters after a review of the Covid pandemic situation in Karnataka.
However, cinema theatres will not be allowed to open in districts registering more than two per cent positivity rate, Mr Bommai said.
Pubs also will be allowed to function, under the same guidelines drafted for cinema theatres, from October 3, the CM said.
However, people will be allowed inside the pubs only if they have taken at least one jab of Covid vaccine, Bommai said.
Night curfew will continue from 10 pm to 5 pm as imposed before, he said, adding that the state government would announce separate guidelines for Desara festival.
Schools and colleges will be allowed to have 100 per cent attendance for classes six and PUC 2, Bommai said.
The government has permitted schools and colleges to run from Monday to Friday, he added.
