Major General Prit Pal  Singh takes over reins of Bison Division as 35th GOC

Hyderabad, Jun 20 (UNI) Major General Prit Pal Singh took over the reins of the Bison Division as 35th General Officer Commanding (GOC) here on Sunday.
An alumnus of Indian Military Academy, Major General Prit Pal Singh was commissioned into the 62 Cavalry of Armoured Corps in 1989.
In a career spanning over three decades, the General Officer has done active combat roles at respective stages of command in the Army.
He possesses distinguished service profile, having attended various prestigious courses including the Defence Services Staff Course at Wellington, Higher Command Course at Mhow and National Defence Course at New Delhi.
Gen Singh brings with him the vast experience of varied military theatres ranging from Northern Borders, Deserts and Counter Insurgency/ Counter Terrorism Operations.
The General Officer has tenanted varied important Command, Staff and Instructional appointments to include tenures in various capacities at Brigade, Corps, Command and Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army).
His command tenures include Command of a Regiment in Counter Terrorism Environment and Command of an Armoured Brigade in Strike Corps.
The General Officer has served in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations at Headquarters United Nations, New York as also in the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea. For his distinguished service, he has been thrice awarded the GOC-in -C Commendation Card and a VCOAS Commendation Card.
On the occasion of taking over the prestigious Bison Division, the Division Commander extended his warm greetings to all Ranks, Veer Naris and Veterans as well as their family members, a Defence release said.
